Vincent Palmieri, Chief Operating Officer at East Coast Power & Gas, LLC, has 20 years of diverse experience in the energy industry. He has designed, managed and led top-performing teams in banking, traditional trading shop, Energy Service Company (“ESCO”) and utility environments covering both physical and financial markets in oil, natural gas and electricity. Vincent has successfully lead organizations through start-up, survival, turnaround and growth modes while consistently meeting or surpassing shareholder expectations. During his time as COO at East Coast Power & Gas, the customer base has increased by 12%, supply volumes by 50%, sales by 20% and EBITDA has grown six times over.
Vincent has amassed and mastered a variety of skill sets and competencies, including critical thinking, project and change management, strategic and tactical analysis, risk and financial analysis and operations best practices, enabling him to lead effectively. Known as a motivational leader who drives and delivers measurable financial results, Vincent empowers his teams to succeed.
Prior to joining the East Coast team, Vincent served as advisor of corporate risk controls/market risk for Hess Corporation. He was an associate at Goldman Sachs, an associate director at Fortis Energy, a manager at PSEG Energy Resources & Trade LLC, and the supply coordinator for MX Energy. Vincent began his energy career as an operations analyst with Sempra Energy Trading.
Vincent holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Pace University. He has certifications in Process Improvement, Project Management, Leadership Essentials and Mentorship. He received the 2012 Project Management Award while with Hess Corporation. Vincent is an active mentor in his alma mater’s alumni give-back program. Vincent is a lifelong Mets, Jets and Rangers fan. He considers his greatest achievement a work in progress – raising his two school-aged children.
Anthony Milanese, President and Co-Founder of East Coast Energy Group, has over 30 years of specialized experience in the energy industry. Mastering in petroleum logistics and risk management along with a penchant for deal-making, Anthony has been able to deliver outstanding financial results while building a well-run, profitable organization. He and his business partner, John Knief, co-founded East Coast Petroleum in 1993 and East Coast Mechanical in 1995. The two co-founded East Coast Energy Group in 2013 after East Coast Power & Gas was added to the family of companies in 2008. East Coast companies offer a range of energy products and services including commodity supply for petroleum, natural gas and electricity, sustainability programs, lighting retrofits, utility audits, boiler conversions and mechanical services. Under Anthony’s leadership, East Coast Energy Group has expanded to serve Long Island, the NY metro area, and mid-state NY. East Coast Energy Group received the Energi 2014 Excellence in Risk Management award under Anthony’s leadership.
Anthony looks forward to directing East Coast Energy Group through additional growth periods and continuing to serve customers with the same amount of pride and care that helped East Coast rise to its current level of success.
Anthony is currently a member of the Howard Beach Kiwanis Club. He enjoys supporting Little League Baseball in his local community.
John Knief, President and Co-Founder of East Coast Energy Group, is a 3rd-generation petroleum industry expert specializing in industrial and commercial boilers and burners. Prior to the formation of any East Coast Energy Group division, John co-owned one of the largest municipal field suppliers servicing the New York Metro area. John’s unparalleled knowledge of the petroleum industry led him to be selected by the former Soviet Union government to partner in the formation of a boiler manufacturing company which field-directed Scotch Marine type boilers in the early 1990s. After the successful launch of East Coast Petroleum in 1993, with the assistance of business partner Anthony Milanese, John applied his expertise and jump-started East Coast Mechanical in 1995. East Coast Energy Group’s latest division, East Coast Power & Gas, was initiated in 2008, bringing a new component to the multifaceted group. Under John’s leadership, East Coast Mechanical holds an R stamp and a PP stamp which permits specialized code welding and is the service representative for companies like AO Smith, Lochinvar, Riello, and formerly, Iron Fireman.
John is proud to provide what he believes is the highest level of customer service in the tri-state area and soon hopes to start servicing an even larger area with the same degree of integrity.
John resides in Merrick but stays active in the Howard Beach Kiwanis Club and has been a supporter of the Ozone Howard Little League for over 20 years. John enjoys fishing and boating and is proud to watch his family legacy live on as his sons Robert and Lenny continue in the industry.
Clara J. Ohr
Clara J. Ohr, General Counsel of the East Coast Energy Group (East Coast), has worked in various sectors of the energy industry since 2006 and has been a practicing law since 1999. Prior to joining East Coast, Clara was the Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer for LUKOIL Pan Americas, LLC (LPA), where she oversaw all legal and compliance matters relating to the supply and trading of crude oil and petroleum products in the Americas and Caribbean for the US-based subsidiary of LITASCO SA (Lukoil International Trading and Supply Company), the exclusive marketing and trading arm of PJSC “LUKOIL”. Clara also served as Assistant General Counsel – Trading at Hess Corporation in New York, NY, supporting the supply and trading of energy commodities; Counsel at Axiom in New York, NY, supporting the Energy Commodities Group at Deutsche Bank AG; and as an Associate in the Project Finance Group at Chadbourne & Parke LLP in New York, NY; Transactional Counsel at the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, DC; and as an Associate in the Finance Group of Kutak Rock LLP in Omaha, NE.
Clara is a past President, Treasurer, Director, and In-House Counsel Committee Co-Chair of the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), and is currently a member of AABANY’s Advisory Committee.
Clara received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, which included an exchange program in comparative international law at Uppsala University in Sweden. She holds a Masters of Music in Piano Performance from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelors of Arts in East Asian Studies from Harvard College.
Outside of the office, Clara is a soprano in The Choral Society of Grace Church and serves as a Director on its Board. A pianist, cyclist, and hiker, she is an avid fan of Nebraska Cornhuskers football.
